Excelaire Expands Its Charter Fleet

The jet-charter carrier Excelaire, based in Ronkonkoma, N.Y., has expanded its fleet with a Bombardier Global 6000 and a Cessna Citation CJ3. The ultralong-range Global 6000 can travel 6,000 miles without refueling and accommodates as many as 16 passengers.

Charleston, S.C.-based Hawthorne Global Aviation Services acquired FBO and aircraft charter and management company ExcelAire at MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma, N.Y. “We are delighted to be teaming up with ExcelAire as we focus on building our fixed-based operations network,” said Hawthorne president and CEO Steven Levesque. “This acquisition highlights our continued FBO focus with expansion into aircraft charter, management and maintenance.” The value of the deal was not disclosed.
